Originally the Ford 5.0 equipped with the AOD transmission from 87-93 had a plastic bushing your throttle valve cable snapped into. This was a flawed design and they would wear and your cable would come loose...which usually ended up smoking overdrive in your transmission. Ford had a Technical Service Bulletin put it which replaced that flawed desing with this brass bushing and clip that would more securely hold your throttle valve cable in place under the throttle body.
