1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

This is our starting point. The car is a 1987 Turbo Coupe with an automatic that had an engine fire and has been sitting for at least 8 years.

The car is covered in tree sap and mold. The tires are dry rotted and under the hood is so burned that nothing is useable except the basic engine.

We have installed a 5.0 HO, Tremec 3550 5 speed transmisison into this car. We have also done a 5 lug conversion using a SN95 Mustang  front brake swap and a set of '98 GT Mustang wheels as well as lowered the car. The rear axles and brakes are from a Lincoln Mark VII.

The engine is a donor from a Lincoln Mark VII. We added a Lunati camshaft, Explorer Intake manifold and a set of headers. We also eliminated the factory ABS system and installed an adjustable proportioning valve and line lock.

The original paint cleaned up nicely but the car still needs to be repainted once we are finished with the V8 swap.

The original air dam designed to keep airflow directed up toward the radiator was missing and is obsolete from Ford. We made our own Custom chin spoiler for the car and think this is the way it should have been from the start!

The original taillights look awful after years of use. On the left is what we started with and on the right is our restored light assembly.

Still a work in progress, this is the latest. We are building our own custom one-off hood for this car which is the reason there isn't one currently on it . We didn't cheat and have a donor V8 car for the Electrical workings of this creation....hours of time examining wiring diagrams and re-wiring the existing T-bird harness to mate with the Mustang Engine harness is how this was done. We have also taken the time to hide most of the wiring under the hood for a cleaner presentation.

Our hood is now finished for the most part! This is a custom made hood by us, it is NOT a fiberglass hood...this hood is all STEEL. We are not offering and do not sell this hood. We made it but unless it involves a lot of money we do not intend to make more. We like to be different here which is why we go to extremes to build different looking cars.
