This
is our new 3G alternator upgrade kit from PA Performance. The kit
includes the alternator with harness, large power wire with fuse block
and special new voltage regulator which
is used only to retain use of the factory warning lights.
This
is your factory alternator setup, notice the voltage regulator on the
front of the RH shock tower. Make sure your battery is disconnected prior
to starting this installation.
Remove
your air intake tube to allow easier access to both the alternator and
voltage regulator.
Remove the original alternator and disconnect the wires from the
back. (click for larger pictures)

Route
your power wire from the starter solenoid over to the alternator. You can
route it along the top of the core support behind the radiator or like we
did...along the harness behind the header panel. There is enough wire to
secure it to the factory harness so that it is hardly noticeable. You can
locate the fuse block on the frame rail below the battery tray(remove
battery tray first and use self tapping screws into the rail edge).

Splice
in your provided harness per the instructions and attach to the back of
the 3G alternator. The white/black wire left over from the main car
harness can be taped up as it is no longer needed. Add your direct power
wire and bolt on the new alternator. It is recommended to tighten the top
bolt first and then tighten the longer bottom bolt to ensure there is not
too much tension on the top ear.
Remove
your orignal Voltage regulator and replace with the new one provided.
Now
you should have everything in place, reconnect your air intake tube and
battery.....finished!
